The International Programs Office is excited to be able to offer scholarships to international students currently studying full time at North Seattle College. Multiple awards are available in the form of scholarships and tuition waivers.
Who can apply?
- Returning IEP level 6 students who will continue on to college level at North and college level students who have completed 1-2 quarters at North may apply for the Returning IEP Level 6 Tuition Waiver. See chart below.
- College level students who have completed at least 1-2 quarters at North Seattle College may apply for various awards so long they meet the minimum eligibility. See chart below.

International Programs Merit Scholarship: Awarded to exceptionally qualified students who demonstrate high academic achievement and overall excellence as a student. This is a competitive scholarship focusing on credit load, academic performance etc. as well as excellence in extra-curricular activities such as leadership roles, volunteering etc. | – F-1 Visa holder in good status
– Enrolled full-time at NSC – Completed 2 College level quarters at NSC – Cumulative college level GPA of 3.8 or higher |

Important Information:
- Scholarships are awarded based on careful review by the scholarship committee of each completed application.
- Students may be awarded one scholarship or waiver per academic year.
- Students may be awarded the merit scholarship only once during their time at North.
- Partially completed applications will be disqualified and not accepted.

Helpful Tips:
- Write the answers to essay questions in a Word document then copy and paste into the box. Make sure to proofread!
- Ask your instructors early if they are able to fill in the recommendation form for you. This part can take the longest to complete.
- Make sure to stick to the word limit. Get close to the word limit as you can, but do not go over.
- Submit early. It is best not to wait until the last minute to complete your application or to ask your instructors for recommendations.
- If you do not receive an award you should apply again the next quarter.
How to Apply for Merit Scholarship, Academic Achievement Tuition Waiver, Leadership and Service Tuition Waiver and Historically Underrepresented Groups Tuition Waiver:
- Before applying, please read the Scholarship & Waiver Information Flyer.
- Complete the NSC Scholarship & Waiver e-form.
- HOW TO LOGIN:
- Go to https://iom.northseattle.edu/istart/controllers/start/start.cfm
- Click on Student Access Portal
- Click on CURRENT STUDENTS: LOG-IN Here For Full Access (top of page)
- Username is your EAD/Seattle Colleges username (first name.last name) and your password is the same password for your Seattle Colleges email/EAD.
- Click on F-1 Student Services on left hand side
- Click on NSC Scholarship and fill out the required information
- HOW TO LOGIN:
- Download the Faculty Recommendation Form and email to an instructor. Faculty may email the completed form to north@seattlecolleges.edu. Please note: if you are applying for the Merit Scholarship, you will need forms from two faculty.
- Once all of your application materials are complete, reviewed, and your Faculty Recommendation Form are submitted to the IP office, you will receive an email confirming your application is completed.
- The scholarship committee will review all completed applications and will inform students of the committee’s decision two to three weeks after the start of the quarter. Award letters are sent to your North Seattle College student email address.
How to Apply for Returning IEP Level 6 Tuition Waiver:
- Download and complete the Returning IEP Level 6 Scholarship Application.
- Download the IP Recommendation Form and give to two IEP Instructors. Forms may be emailed directly to Forester@seattlecolleges.edu.
- Write a 400-600 word essay on the topic listed on the Returning IEP Level 6 Scholarship Application .
- Completed IEP Scholarship packets should be submitted to Anne Forester in the Basic & Transitional Studies Office 3NC2407. Please note: All required applications materials should be submitted in one single packet. Applications and recommendation forms submitted after the end of the business day on the due date are disqualified and will not be accepted.
